Oystercatcher Presents: Slow Rage, Thinking Foxes, Club Ruby
The first of the Oystercatcher Presents series, we are hosting Slow Rage, Thinking Foxes, and Club Ruby!
“Slow Rage” is a two-piece punk/alt-rock band based in Auckland. Max and Sam met at a dance school about a decade ago, and have been inseparable ever since. They are known for their DIY approach to their music and high-energy, in-your-face live shows. With a fourth album currently in the works, Slow Rage is absolutely not one to miss.
Thinking Foxes is an Auckland based band consisting of four like minded musicians who create a fresh take on Alternative Rock. Blending elements from Grunge, Britpop, Indie Rock and Pop-Punk, Thinking Foxes deliver high-energy guitar-based music rich with pop melodies.
Club Ruby uses a hodgepodge of indie pop and punk influences to paint vulnerable and dynamic pictures of specific moments in time. From their perspective as an Asian American exploring Kiwi-land for a while, their music provides a glimpse into the journey of self-acceptance and going against the grain to chase your dreams. You can hear this through their strong but vulnerable vocals and their heavy guitar that peaks through colours of sadness and reflection. Club Ruby is not afraid to tell it how it is and have a blast while doing it.
